disk installing

When installing vista i get the install now screen, then i get an error message
'setup could not get information about the disks on your computer'
so it won't install, i can see the disks in bios so it is reading them,
whats the problem?

Have the same problem and yet no solution found anywhere!

Humm! Tried to post this the other night...but?
I got the same error so I reformatted the drive and actually set an active partition as FAT32 and installed Vista with no further problems.

I followed an advise to start with XP and than in XP start setup of the Vista DVD and install on the separate HD. This was successful until the next problem .........posted as a new thread "Vista OS loader fails"
